Ewood Park is a football stadium located in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. It
serves as the home ground for Blackburn Rovers F.C., one of the founding
members of both the Football League and Premier League.

Having hosted the team since 1890. The stadium is an all-seater, multi-sport facility with a
capacity of 31,367. It comprises four sections: the Bryan Douglas Darwen
End, the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End, the Riverside Stand, and the Jack
Walker Stand, named after the Blackburn industrialist and club supporter, Jack
Walker.

After selling Walkersteel to the British Steel Corporation for £330 million, Jack
Walker decided to purchase Blackburn Rovers and aimed to transform Ewood
Park into one of the most advanced stadiums in the country.

By the end of the 1990-91 season, Walker had gained full control of the club and funded the
construction of a new stand to replace the Riverside Stand three years earlier.

Walker then unveiled plans to rebuild the remaining three sides of Ewood
Park. In June 1992, the local council approved plans for three new stands,
creating an all-seater stadium with a capacity of over 31,000. By February
1994, the new two-tiered Blackburn and Darwen End stands were opened,
with car parks behind both. This redevelopment involved the demolition of
terraced houses on Nuttall Street and Fernhurst Mill.

The transformation of the ground was completed in August 1994 with the
opening of the Jack Walker Stand on the site of the old Nuttall Street Stand.
The new stadium symbolised a new era for the club and provided a fitting
home for the soon-to-be champions of England.

The new Ewood Park was officially opened in November 1995, with Blackburn Rovers marking the occasion with a 7-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
