Be sure to allocate ample time since buses tend to fill up quickly on matchdays, and traffic can be dense.
Departing from Liverpool City Centre, you can opt for the special 917 bus designated for matchdays, offering direct transport to the stadium. Alternatively, if you prefer shorter queues, the 26 departing from Liverpool ONE bus station might be slightly less crowded.
For additional options, you can catch the 17 from Queen’s Square or, depending on your starting point in the city, connect with the 27, 68, 14, or 19, all of which have stops within walking distance of Anfield.
Close to Anfield, there are a couple of stations available, but the one most commonly utilised by visitors is Sandhills, situated 1.3 miles west of the stadium, approximately a 30-minute walk away.
The Arkles (L4 0TJ) serves as the designated pub for away fans. Arrive ahead of time to secure a spot, as it tends to fill up quickly, often with queues forming outside. Another option, the 'Flat Iron' (L4 0SZ), is just a brief five-minute walk away. While predominantly frequented by Liverpool supporters, the bars cater to a mixed crowd, ensuring a welcoming and convivial atmosphere.

Currently, Anfield Road is shut down between Skerries Road and Alroy Road due to the ongoing Anfield Road Expansion project. Pedestrians and matchday attendees will be redirected into Stanley Park via Dahlia Walk as an alternate route connecting Alroy Road and Arkles Lane. To assist residents, suitable wayfinding signage has been set up for guidance.
Additionally, Walton Breck Road will be inaccessible for 90 minutes before the match and 60 minutes after (or earlier if safety permits reopening).

Normally, the bus arrives at Anfield approximately 75 minutes prior to kickoff. Our recommendation is to arrive about 90 minutes before kickoff if you aim to catch sight of the players arriving.
