Kingsholm Stadium, located in the Kingsholm area of Gloucester, England, is
the home ground of Gloucester Rugby.

With a capacity of 16,115, it is sometimes affectionately referred to as 'Castle Grim,' named after the estate on which it stands.

The stadium features a new main grandstand, which
opened in 2007. This all-seated stand, known for its 7,500-seat capacity,
stretches along the south touchline and is currently sponsored by Malvern Tyres.

Historically, Kingsholm served as a temporary home for the England rugby
team before they established Twickenham as their permanent venue.

Additionally, the stadium hosted a pool match between New Zealand and the
United States during the 1991 Rugby World Cup.

Reflecting the traditional design of many English professional rugby union
grounds, Kingsholm includes several terraced standing areas.

The North Stand, commonly known as 'The Compeed Shed' due to sponsorship reasons,
spans the entire length of the pitch and accommodates approximately 3,000
spectators. Renowned for its close proximity to the pitch and its low roof, The
Shed is famous for its passionate home support.

The West Stand terrace, sponsored by Allstone Speedy Skips, holds around 1,615 fans and features a row of hospitality boxes above.

The East Stand, located directly on Kingsholm Road and sponsored by Stowford Press, is an all-seater stand with a capacity of about 3,000 spectators.

In July 1891, Gloucester Football Club submitted a proposal to acquire the
land on which Kingsholm Stadium now stands.

The purchase was finalised, and the inaugural match was played in October 1891. A pavilion with seating for 424 spectators was constructed in 1892. In 1923, a wooden stand was
added, but it was destroyed by fire in September 1933. A larger stand was
completed by the end of the same year to replace it.

The original pavilion was demolished in 1934, and a new stand, known today as The Shed, was built in its place.

In May 2008, Kingsholm hosted a match between the Barbarian F.C. and the
Ireland national rugby union team. The stadium has also been the venue for
eight other international fixtures, including a pool match during the 1991
Rugby World Cup and four pool games in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The 2015 matches featured Tonga, Georgia, Scotland, Argentina, the United
States, and Japan. Kingsholm was also a venue for the 2000 Rugby League
World Cup. On October 29, it hosted the Group 2 match between New
Zealand and Lebanon.

The New Zealand team featured future rugby union
players and Gloucester Rugby stars Henry Paul and Lesley Vainikolo.
Kingsholm frequently hosts pop concerts, typically after the rugby season has
concluded.

The stadium has welcomed a variety of performers, including Tom
Jones, McFly, Ronan Keating, and The Wanted. In 2015, it featured Madness,
and in 2016, it hosted Elton John and Jess Glynne, as well as Lionel Richie.
Little Mix performed there in 2017.
