Old Trafford, famously known as “The Theatre of Dreams,” is the iconic home of Manchester United, set in Greater Manchester, England. With an impressive 74,310-seat capacity, it stands as the largest club football stadium in the UK and ranks second overall after Wembley.
Just a short walk from Old Trafford Cricket Ground and the nearby tram stop, this legendary ground has been a football hub since 1910, with a brief relocation to Maine Road during WWII.
This historic stadium has been continuously enhanced, most notably in the 1990s and 2000s with expanded tiers in the North, West, and East Stands, aiming to reclaim its original 80,000-seat glory.
Plans for future expansion could see the South Stand gain an additional tier, lifting capacity to around 88,000.
Beyond hosting Manchester United's unforgettable matches, Old Trafford has been the stage for pivotal events: FA Cup semi-finals, international fixtures, and major tournaments like the 1966 World Cup, Euro ’96, and the 2012 Summer Olympics. The stadium has also embraced rugby league, hosting the Super League Grand Final since 1987 and five Rugby League World Cup events, making it a true theatre for sporting dreams across disciplines.
